What I do
I’ve always loved seeing how businesses shape our world. That’s why I built a successful career in communications tied to top-line goals for large enterprises, smaller organizations, and ambitious individuals doing work they love.
Because I’ve been a news reporter and management consultant, I’ve been in newsrooms, conference rooms, and boardrooms. Often during the conversations in these rooms, I’ve been the voice offering a perspective that others haven’t considered. And I’m the one who stays cool and collected in crisis.
Now, I write and edit for people who ready to upgrade their communications. What I write runs the gamut of business communications — from marketing strategies to tactical components. I may be drafting a pitch deck one day, ghostwriting an op-ed or blog post the next, or framing a job proposal for a promotion the day after that.
On the corporate side, my communications campaigns have made money or saved money for employers. They have created better workplace experiences — on-site or virtual — for employees. What I bring to the table is an ability to look at communications from the no-nonsense, “what’s in it for me” (WIIFM) lens people use to filter information.
I’m pretty good at tying grand ideas to the day-to-day realities people are living.
On the small business and personal branding fronts, I’ve started sharing my communications expertise formally because I’m an immigrant Black woman who wants to build a more equitable world. That is, I help motivated professionals and business owners elevate their brands by burnishing their stories and providing tangible communication tools they need to rise to the occasion.
